APPLICATION
Liquid Jet Eductors are used in various pumping and mixing applications. They can be utilized in pumping applications where a high pressure motive fluid is available to drive the eductor. The intimate contact between the motive and suction fluid makes eductors ideal for mixing applications. Liquid Jet Eductors are especially useful in applications where a mechanical pump is not practical or it is cost prohibitive, such as for highly corrosive , erosive, and explosion proof applications. When applied correctly, Liquid Jet Eductors are self priming and, unlike mechanical pumps, eductors have no moving parts that require routine maintenance. Some typical applications include pumping out wells, sumps, pits ad bilges; chemical mixing, blending and diluting; pumping of food products; reconstituting processes; slurry handling; back washing filter beds; deep well pumping; and mixing aqueous solutions of pesticides, herbicides, oxidizers, and fertilizers.

OPERATION / PERFORMANCE
Liquid Jet Eductors utilize a high pressure motive fluid such as water or another liquid to lift, entrain, and pump a lower pressure liquid. The motive liquid enters the suction chamber of the eductor through a converging motive nozzle. The nozzle converts the pressure energy of the motive liquid to a high velocity. As the high velocity motive fluid mixes with the suction liquid, a portion of the motive momentum is transferred to the suction liquid in the body. The combined streams then enter the venturi tail section where further mixing occurs and the remaining velocity energy is converted to a pressure intermediate to the suction and motive pressures.

CONSTRUCTION
Liquid Jet Eductors consist of a one piece body and venturi tail and a removable motive nozzle. Eductors are available in almost any material including Steel., Stainless Steel , Monel, Hastelloy, Titanium, PVC, CPVC, Kynar and Teflon depending upon the application. Connections are typically flanged or threaded, but special connections such as butt weld, socket ends, quick disconnects, or sanitary clamps are also available.
