| AquaSBR® USA Sequencing Batch Reactor : |
 |
Sequencing Batch Reactor systems represent a variation of the activated sludge process. Like any other activated sludge process, the AquaSBR® USA works by developing a mixed culture of bio-floc which is effective in removing BOD (bio-chemical oxygen demand), COD (chemical oxygen demand) and nutrients commonly found in domestic waters.
The AquaSBR® USA can treat a wide range of domestic and industrial waste waters, at flows ranging from a few hundred cubic meters to thousands of cubic meters per day.
Because the AquaSBR® USA operates in a true batch treatment mode, optimum effluent quality is obtained during each cycle. Only a fraction of the total reactor volume is introduced into the reactor each cycle. This raw flow combines with the acclimated biomass, which remains in the reactor at all times.
The ratio of raw flow to biomass is a key factor in obtaining desired effluent quality results from the SBR. Since only a small amount of sludge is wasted in each cycle, the quality of the biomass is always maintained.
A true batch reactor system like the AquaSBR® USA does not allow influent wastewater to enter the SBR reactor during final react, settle and decant phases, thereby assuring an excellent quality of final effluent.
Operation & Process Description
The AquaSBR® USA acts as an equalization basin, aeration basin and clarifier within a single reactor. The termination of flow during the treatment process provides perfectly quiescent settling conditions in the reactor, and permits even very fine particles to settle. Each reactor maintains its own treatment regime and all phases of treatment occur in each reactor for the full cycle time at flows up to the maximum design flows.
Complete mix of the reactor in the absence of oxygen:
- Depletes the reactor of oxidized nitrogen that remains from the
previous
treatment cycle.
- Provides for anoxic conditioning of the sludge mass.
Wastewater treatment applications include:
1. Domestic applications:
2. Industrial applications:
- Chemical/ Petrochemical
- Food
- Pulp and Paper
- Dairy
- Beverage
- Textile
- Any other wastewater that can be biologically treated
